Here’s a snapshot of my personality, quirks and all.
- When the soundtrack of a TV program gets scary, I leave the room.
- I’d rather be home with my husband than anywhere else.
- I think the best part of going to the gym is leaving.
- When I was a little girl, I used to soak all the family’s toothbrushes in Lestoil.
- I equate shopping on Black Friday with waterboarding.
- I love time alone with my grandchildren so we can play make-believe.
- The only place I’m allowed to sing is in church due to God’s perfect hearing.
- My husband and I don’t keep score in Scrabble. We’re just happy we can spell.
- I started writing fiction because the truth in my life was not believable.
- I believe debating–especially about politics—is a waste of my good hot air.
- My mouth kicks in before my brain because I have a sentence to compl-inish.
- Some of the funniest lines my characters use, I stole from my husband.

Clarice, I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your bio. At times I quivered thinking I was reading about myself.
Your post today 2-13 was a treasure.

Thank you for your kind words, Janet. I appreciate hearing from people who aren’t afraid to admit that they share some of my quirks and foibles. It makes me feel less lonely. 🙂

‘And, if I do a chore that’s NOT on my list, I write it in anyway just so I can cross it off.’ I thought only I did that!

Oh my, thank you for writing this. This is my first visit here. You have me in stitches. Love your humor. I can identify with the geekier traits, but I’m not able to park straight. Thank you for the smiles. ~Joyce (grew up in Lebanon)

You’re welcome, Joyce. Glad my geekier traits can make someone else smile besides my husband and children. Life is too short to take it so seriously.

I went over to help my mama clean her house when she was at the hospital. When she got home, she said, “I feel like I need to invite someone over.” Ha ha! I love all your silliness and truth. Makes this life fun living.
